Photo Animatic good pictures

This is a good photo in my photo animatic that we retook because it shows all of the characters faces in the shot whilst they ate walking into college, it also also includes the rule of third, and is taken at a side angle, you could also say it has a viewpoint because you can see the background, but you cant really see our faces or our expressions.
This is a good photo because it has good expression in it, and it has lines that are on the photo's on the walls which leads outwards to the centre of the Image where Ke'nan is. This photo could also be considered as framed for the side walls are the same and frame Ke'nan.
This is a good photo because it is taken at an angle, and also involves leading lines - bottom of the photos. This is also a good photo because you can see that all of the characters are interacting with each other.
This is a good photo because it is balancing elements for me and Ke'nan are both in a corner. The photo is also cropped so that me and Ke'nan are fairly equal in the photo for balancing elements, also the rule of third attends this photo as me Phoebe and Ke'nan are both on a line. The background is very central to, between actors.
This is a good Image for the expressions of the actors for you can tell which people are talking and which are not. It also shows which people are most important for it excludes the least important character.
This image is good because it has angles, because of the angle the camera is held at, and it is also good because it has leading lines from the photographs on the wall of the corridor.

Photo Animatic Video

This is my animatic with the photos that our group 'Weletah' went out to take, from the storyboard.I have not included sound in the video, although, all of the photos are correct and also effects in each shoe such as the first shot with Pheobe sleeping, includes a zoom and also a rotation, which is what we are planning to have in the final video.

Photo Animatic bad pictures

This picture is wrong because the picture the main focus is in the centre of the image, therefore it is not following the rule of third. It is also very straight and doesn't have any diagonals therefore it is not a very interesting image, and although it has a fairly basic background, it needs to have depth, that would make it look a lot more interesting and also detailed, and realistic - This would also relate to the background needing changing.
This picture is not very good, for it looks like Shelby is looking at the floor, and it hasn't provided space to move for the actors, and doesn't show any suggestion as to where the three characters are heading to.
This picture again could use with better framing, and also the expression is not very realistic and does not suit the heading of 'breaking the rules' for it is an emotionless expression. Balancing elements works well though, because of the pictures on the wall. the background suits. It does not fit with the rule of third at all for the photo is very centred.
This image is not very good for the actors are not making expression, and also eyes are closed. Also there is a very busy background for people are walking down the corridor. and it is the opposite in the other shots.
This shot is bad because it could do with cropping, for a lot of the background is not needed. It is also very out of focus.
This photo is bad because the wire of the whale has yellow between the wire because of the paper that we held up for the background is wrong, and also the border of the whale, that hold it up covers the nose, and gets in the way of the shot. This shot is also bad because the camera is at an angle rather than straight on.

Research rotoscoping

Rotoscoping is transferring an Image form a live action film into another sequence using Rotoscope. Rotoscoping is an animation technique where animators trace over every piece of footage, to use in live-action and animated films. Before film images were projected onto a frosted glass panel and re-drawn by an animator. This projection equipment is called a rotoscope, although it has now been replaced by computers.
The use of rotoscoping is to make films look realistic for instance to make a film where gulls are flying over a cliff, you would take a film of gulls flying in the sky and then filming a cliff, and then adding the footage of the gulls into the sequence with the cliff.
The history of rotscoping was that the film used to be projected onto a frosted glass panel and the it would be re-drawn by an animator, although, now it has all been replaced by computers. It has been used in a lot of films. The reason of which animators do this is because it is cheaper and a lot easier if the animators cannot find the location in real life.
The film 'All Dogs Go To Heaven' uses rotoscoping, This film uses rotoscoping for the film is all animated and it needs rotoscoping to make sure that the films fits together and looks perfect i.e to make the film look realistic rather than animated to the audience. In 'All Dogs Go To Heaven' the rotscoping is well made as it doesn't look like two recordings have been put together in a sequence, it looks like the whole filming was took in one go.

working between premiere and after effects

In premier Pro you can import clips from Adobe Effects into Premier Pro by going in to film, and then Import media, and then click on the Export settings, you then Export it to QuickTime.

If you want to add Effects into your clip then you drag your sequence into After Effects, then you make it into a sequence. You can then add Effects to the clip, the effects will show in After Effects. You have to make sure that it is saved in both programs though because if it isn't then you could lose all of your effects that you added in After Effects. You then upload the whole video into premier with the Effects so that it appears as a video once you have exported it as a YouTube file.

Research and understanding mattes and matte painting

A matte painting is a painted representation of a landscape, set, or distant location that allows film-makers to create the illusion of an environment that doesn't exist in real life or would be either to expensive to use, or impossible to build or visit etc.
The creation of matte painting go back as far as 1905. It used to only be for films although nowadays it is also used for a style of art by artists. It used to be created by hand, painting images or glass is now done on tablets and also computers.
Matte painting is a painted representation of a landscape, set, or distant location that allows film-makers to create an illusion of an environment that doesn't exist. Matte painters and film technicians have used various techniques to combine a matte - painted image with live - action footage. At its best, depending on the skill levels of the artists and technicians, the effect is "seamless" and creates environments that would otherwise be impossible in film.
This is a clip of a matte painting used in the film 'Meet Joe Black', It shows what the matte painting is, and also what the original background was and what it was changed to in the filming, to make sure that it suits the rest of the film environment. I believe this is convincing for they have made it fit perfectly in the place and also it matches the ground and costume and buildings (everything) perfectly.

Visual Assets Sheet's

Shots/ Scenes: 1 - 23
Location: The locations of which we are filming are in F15, Outside the fire exit door of F15, and also the corridors around college (Long Road). We will use F15 for the last few shots that are taken in the classroom, for the desks to sit at, that way we have a classroom at the ready for us to use, we are also using this location for the scenes where need the green scree, because it is a quiet room, therefore we wont get interrupted much, we are also using this room for the green screening because it has a straight wall so that we can hang the green screen up. We are using the area outside the fire exit of F15 because it is close to F15 therefore we dont need to go far if we need to film quickly, we are also using this area because it looks pretty and mystical because of all the trees around, and also the stalls made out of bark etc. It also has a section where it's dark because of the trees, but it also has a section where it is open so that we can get the light in form the sun as-well. We are using all college corridors because they suit the film in as far as it has the colours on the walls down the corridor we need and also the windows, it also has the lockers we need to.
Description: Most of our shots are all going to be fairly magical and also mystical for it is a fantasy genre, it is also going to be fairly dramatic because of the sound effects that we will be using such as the ice effects and also the heart beat effect in the background of some of the shots and the black out that we will use before shots 'scene 5 shot 1' when the ice blows out of Phoebe's mouth. Our film will also be fairly high tech because of the space whale and the ice deer, and copper horse that we are going to use and also need to design. We are also planning on having a lot of different design ideas, such as acting, green screening, adobe effects, photoshop. We are also planning on using music in the film to.
Raw Footage: The main Raw footage that we will have will be the whole of scene 4, which is of Phoebe, ke'nan and Skye walking down the corridors, this is going to be Raw footage because there is no shot where we wil need an effect. We will also be able to take this straight away as it is in an easy accessible location and the location fits perfectly with the on screen location.
Chromakey: We are going to have a lot of Green Screening 'Chromakey' in our video, for the whole of scene 3 is using a green screen and also scene 2. We need to use Green Screen a lot for there are magical creatures in our video such as the copper horse and the straw deer and also the space whale, and these are the shots that base around scene 3, therefore we need the Green Screen to make it look realistic. We need the green screen for scene 2, because we are doing a drowning scene which needs to look realistic, and also a scene where the insides of Phoebe turn to ice rather than natural insides.

VFX Test Footage

This is what we did when practising for our Visual Effects research, we did this to see whether or not we could capture a shot of me riding a deer as Phoebe when doing the actual filming, We also did this to test whether or not the green screen would work to do this scene, which is what we want to use for the actual filming. These are the Images that we used to put the photo together in photo shop. This way worked fairly well for it did create the Image and it did make it realistic in as far as I am sitting on the deer and not a stall.

To do this in Photo shop:
- we took the the video of me sitting on the stool, pretending to ride the deer in front of the green screen.
- We then took a video of art department's sculpture of the deer ans positioned it the same way I was sitting on the stool.
- We then uploaded them onto the computer and dragged them into Photo Shop.
- We then used the lasso tool to cut out the background behind me so that it was all blank behind me.
- We then copied and pasted my hands and moved their layer on top of the everything do it looked like I was riding the deer.
- We then did this again in cutting the outline of the deer and we put each layer on photo shop to put me on top of the animal.
- We then chose a background from google of a sky and put it behind Me and added clouds from the Image infront of me.

This is out final Image on Photo shop:
